I didn’t start Salt + Light Physio simply because I wanted to own a physical therapy practice.

In many ways, this practice is the culmination of so many different parts of my life—growing up in a family of entrepreneurs, building a career rooted in service and education, navigating my own experiences with women’s health, and ultimately realizing that I wanted to create the kind of healthcare experience I believe women deserve.

My journey into physical therapy began with a love of movement and the human body. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Minnesota State University, Mankato, before going on to earn my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Elon University.

But even as a student, I knew that being a physical therapist meant more to me than treating an injury.

I BELIEVED HEALTHCARE SHOULD BE ABOUT SERVING PEOPLE.

While at Elon, I co-founded the HOPE Clinic, a student-run pro bono physical therapy clinic created to help provide care for people in our community who otherwise might not have access to it. I later had the privilege of returning as a senior clinician, helping guide students as they learned to care for patients of their own.

That experience has stayed with me throughout my career. So has my love of teaching. I’ve had the opportunity to teach future physical therapists at Elon University, and education continues to be at the heart of how I treat my patients today.

Because I don’t just want to tell you what exercises to do.

I WANT YOU TO UNDERSTAND YOUR BODY.

I want you to know why you’re experiencing symptoms. I want you to feel confident moving again. And ultimately, I want you to leave physical therapy feeling like you have the tools to keep doing the things you love without needing me forever.

Pelvic Health Philosophy

Over more than a decade as a physical therapist, I’ve learned something important:

Â

And the pelvic floor is no exception.

Your pelvic floor doesn’t exist in isolation. It’s connected to how you breathe, how you move, how you manage pressure, how strong you are, and how your entire body responds to the demands of your everyday life.

That’s why my approach to pelvic health looks beyond the pelvic floor.

Yes, sometimes Kegels are appropriate. But they aren’t the answer for every woman—and they’re certainly not the whole story.

My approach combines pelvic health physical therapy with whole-body movement, strength, mobility, hands-on treatment, education, and other individualized techniques to understand what your body needs.

Because the goal isn’t simply to give you a stronger pelvic floor.

Your pelvic floor needs more than kegels.
The body rarely fits neatly into one diagnosis—or one body part.
The goal is to help you become a stronger, more confident, more capable version of yourself.

Beyond The Clinic
When I’m not talking about pelvic floors…
I’m a wife and mom to my rainbow baby, and our family includes two dogs that I absolutely adore. I love traveling, hiking, getting lost in a good book, spending time with my family, and discovering really good food. My faith is an important part of my life, and I enjoy volunteering locally and being involved in my church community. I also come from generations of entrepreneurs, so perhaps creating something of my own was always somewhere in my DNA.
Salt and Light Physio is where so many pieces of my life have finally come together:
Service. Education. Movement. Women’s health. Faith. Entrepreneurship.
And above all, my belief that women deserve better.
